A trip down to South London

A trip down to South London

Well that was a bit strange … it was Tuesday morning and I was at an FSB call but, I wasn’t hosting …

As the weekly West Yorkshire FSB calls are now fortnightly Yorkshire and the North East … I decided, as I was there at the weekend, I would attend the South London call hosted by Caron, Sarah, Mia and Rachel.

Merewyn Sayers Greenwich January 2026

It was an excellent meeting, where Caron workshopped us through our goals, focusing on an objective, foreseeing challenges and how to overcome them, resulting in a commitment for the next 90 days.

Caron was brave and shared the commitment she has made, to hold her accountable, which is; to show up on social for 180 days straight.  Please help and encourage her to do so.

We also had several breakout rooms to get to know each other, as well as explore and articulate our plans for 2026.

In the first break out room Grace Wallace, Tom Armes, Pauline Wilkinson, Joel Doyle and I discussed our objectives, obstacles and our declarations.

Anxiety attending networking events was mentioned, and I explained my mum’s “wear a coat hanger in your mouth” advice given to me in my first public facing job, and Joel shared a penny drop moment ‘most campaigns are aiming for 2% success rate’, so give yourself a break and enjoy it.

Other insights from the meeting were –

Rasel Khan is committed to doing 5 joint webinars talking about business – get in touch with him for more details.

Dan James said that he was going to do more outreach and ensure that he does something each week that prospects for the future.

Gavin had an astounding target of getting in front of 500 people a week!

Alex Rabinovich is aiming to organise an event is Suffolk – so if you are that way and interested, speak to him!

Mehul Dave is looking to give people clarity with their numbers

Sarah suggested that you can raise your visibility by leaving the FSB a Trust Pilot review

It was great to have such insight into the worlds of our fellow small businesses and be inspired by such a vast variety.

As networking is a 2-way relationship, in the next breakout room, we were asked to share 1 Give and 1 Ask in return.

Mohsin has a Quiz on his website which gives a clear snapshot of what is working well and the core areas you need to focus on.  And he asks that you share it with people that might find it beneficial. https://nextgenquiz.scoreapp.com/

Michael Eves is offering to give you your health back and simply asks for the opportunity for a Zoom call

My Give, is the MarComms Calendar I shared at the beginning of the year with my mailing list subscribers, which you can access here – https://www.sayerssolutions.co.uk/marketing-communications/

And my Ask is to tell people about my Sayers Solutions Drop in sessions which are planned to start in February on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month, between 10-midday.  These sessions are aimed to be Online CoWorking and Body Doubling, as opposed to introduction networking or a structured peer support session.
