Mission 100

Last year as part of my role with the FSB, I helped to organise a business networking event with a difference. Yes businesses were invited to meet other businesses as usual, however the difference was, instead of paying a fee to attend, we instead asked people to bring pants (new and unused ones obviously!).

The donations received included pants, socks and a variety of sanitary items were used by the Mission to give to their service users, who come to the Mission with nothing and are very much in need.

Everyone that comes to the Mission are provided with a hot meal along with the very much needed support and advice.

This year the Huddersfield Mission is celebrating 100 years

To celebrate this they are holding a day of celebrations on Tuesday 17th September.

Daytime: 11:00 to  2:00pm

This is an opportunity to celebrate the work of the Mission and to learn more about them, including their timeline covering over 100 years.

This is a drop in event so please you are welcome to visit anytime from 11:00am.

The day time celebration is specifically designed for our customers and referral agencies.  Refreshments will be provided at lunchtime so please let the Huddersfield Mission know so they can cater appropriately.

Evening event 6:00 to 8:00pm

The Trustees of Huddersfield Mission are delighted to invite you to an evening of celebration, including the launch of Mission 100 Appeal and also Street Outreach Good Practice Guide, this event will begin at 6pm prompt.

The Deputy Mayor, Cllr Nigel Patrick will open the event, which will include an opportunity to explore the Mission timeline which shows over 100 years of Mission history including their current work.

The Street Outreach good practice guide, developed by a partnership of local organisations will then be officially launched, before the Huddersfield Mission’s very own Master Chef and volunteer Jim Gardner who will launch the new appeal Mission 100.

Light refreshment will be served so please let the Huddersfield Mission know if you plan to attend in the evening so they can cater appropriately.
