Work Rest or Play
Work Rest or Play was launched in 2025, and is the rebrand of the HD8 Network. It was created in 2013 to support and promote the HD8 postcode area of Huddersfield, West Yorkshire and is a platform for communication.
It came about when I was networking in early 2013 over in Brighouse, where there was 5 or 6 of us that lived in the HD8 area and I joked to the organiser that they should have an event by us … and when driving home I questioned why I didn’t set one up.
Firstly I tested the market with a Facebook , Twitter and Linkedin presence and people liked it and asked to meet in person. So between July 2013 and Covid we were meeting monthly.
A website was then created early 2014 and the recreated by Delicious Media in 2015.
Also in 2015 the HD8 Network received a professional rebrand and a number of membership options were launched.
In 2025 we rebranded to Work Rest or Play,
The rebrand enables us to extend our reach, now focusing on Kirklees, Wakefield, Barnsley and Leeds, more broadly speaking West and South Yorkshire.
